What is TEDxUofT?
TEDxUofT is a nonprofit organization licensed by TED. In the spirit of Ideas Worth Spreading, TEDxUofT is designed to gather the brightest minds in the University of Toronto community to spark conversation and connection. Now in our 7th year, we’re building a platform of free knowledge and entertainment from some of the world’s most inspired thinkers, as well as a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other, online, at our annual conference, and at our TEDxUofTSalons throughout the year.

Who is behind TEDxUofT?
TEDxUofT is run by a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers who are all current University of Toronto students.

Does the team get paid?
No, everyone on our team is a volunteer.

What’s a TEDxUofTSalon?
A Salon is a more intimate TEDx event that dives deeply into one subject area. Up to 100 curious attendees are invited to interact with the speakers and with their fellow guests to discuss the ideas presented, ask questions, and explore the theme from different viewpoints. Salons are an evening of ideas worth sharing, engaging in lively discussions about the topics at hand, and creating a deeper connection to the TEDxUofT community.

When & where is TEDxUofT this year?
TEDxUofT will be held March 10th 2018 at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts.

How long is the TEDxUofT conference?
The conference is a full-day event, running from approximately 9AM-5PM.

Can I speak or perform at your events?
Speaker nominations are currently closed for our 2018 conference. For performance inquiries, please email hello@tedxuoft.com with 1) a video of what you would like to perform, 2) your availability on March 10th 2018 and 3) a short paragraph about why you'd like to perform.

Can I volunteer at TEDxUofT?
Volunteer applications for our main conference are now closed.

Why do tickets to TEDxUofT events cost money?
TEDxUofT is a nonprofit organization, run by a team of dedicated volunteers. Ticket prices are to cover the cost of the event including  amenities, venue, operations and food. Quite simply, without charging a fee, we would not be able to host our events.

I am a member of the media. How do I obtain a media pass?
There are a limited number of media passes available, please email hello@tedxuoft.com if you are interested. No passes will be issued for photographers, the TEDxUofT photographers covering the events will share their images with media pass holders.

How can I receive your news and announcements?
